“The town was officially incorporated in 1953. Home Rule Status was adopted in 1979 with a council/manager form of government. U.S. Interstate 75 was built in 1960 and had a similar impact on Allen’s future as the railroad a century before. Developmental Learning Materials and InteCom, Inc. relocated to Allen in the 1980s, leading the way for many corporate startups and relocation.”

“The Town of Fairview was incorporated in 1958 with a population of 50. Since that time, it has grown steadily to today’s population of almost 9,000. The community is marked by large houses on large lots, expansive open spaces, numerous horse farms, excellent schools, rolling hills, vast hardwoods, beautiful creeks, and the extensive Village at Fairview shopping area and mixed-use center.”
